Latourell Falls, Portland, OR – Part 2

This shorter trail is paved and you can walk right up to the waterfall!!

Location: Heading East from Portland on the I-84, take exit number 28. Travel a quarter mile and turn right onto Historic Columbia Hwy. Travel along this road for almost 3 miles. The parking lot for Latourell Falls is on the left side of the road.

Difficulty: 1/5 Aside from a slightly steep path heading to the waterfalls, this trail is smooth, paved and relatively flat.

Kid Friendly: Yep. This was an easy trail for all kiddies!

Stroller/ADA Accessible: Yes. This is a great trail for any stroller or wheel chairs, however there are just a couple of stairs heading down to the trail from the parking lot so just be careful of those.

Description: This easy, short and sweet trail travels over bridges, under other bridges and you can walk right up to the waterfall if you go off the paved trail. The trail head for this trail begins to the right of the information board. It has 3 -5 stairs to step down to meet the flat paved trail to the base of this waterfall.

There are two small trails that lead right up to the pool of the waterfall. It was an amazing experience being almost right underneath the waterfall. There is also a small park area for the kids to play at.

This area was quite populated so be considerate of others on this path. If you want to take the road less traveled, or in other words, the 2.5 mile trail that goes to the top of the waterfall, check out this post here.
