Maple Ridge Trail, Milo McIver State Park, Estacada, OR

A beautiful old-growth trail with hills, bugs and beauty. Don’t forget to wear long pants on this one, a few of us “enjoyed” the effects of poison-ivy. If you come to do the hike here, plan on staying for some fun times in the river, frisbee golf, or camping!!

Location: This 2 mile hike is located to the far left area of Milo McIver State Park in Estacada, OR. This is about 1 hr 15 minutes NE of Salem and about 30 minutes SE of Portland, OR.

Difficulty: 3/5. This trail is longer than all of my kids enjoyed. There were many stairs, lots of hills, narrow trails but this path was very well directed.

Kid Friendly: This great hike is best suited for the older kids. My 7 year old did well, but the 4 year old and 3 yr old really didn’t enjoy it, except for all the fun bugs that we saw along the way.

Stroller / ADA Accessible: Due to the steep hills, narrow trails and number of stairs, this hike is not Stroller or ADA Accessible.

Description: The Maple Ridge Trail is one of many trails in the Milo McIver State Park. Itis very much an old-growth trail and it is great to see it preserved so well. The trails are marked with wooden signs so there is no getting lost. You can also get a map of the park and the trails at the registration booth.

There is poison-ivy that three of us enjoyed the effects of, so please wear long pants on this hike. Dogs are welcome on leashes. This is an absolutely beautiful hike, one that I recommend!

We spent the night before the hike camping at the campground, which was so awesome.
